The Academy provides a venue in which all students can be educated and assessed in both traditional and non-traditional ways, thereby helping children to thrive in all learning environments.
English/Language Arts
English/Language Arts is the foundation of communication for all living, learning, sharing, and building of ideas. Through arts and academics, students will develop skills and strategies for effective speaking, listening, reading, writing, and viewing.
Mathematics
WMAAA's mathematical teaching resources provide a blended approach to develop both computational and problem solving skills. The math curriculum is supported by and enhanced through the arts.
Science
Our science units are designed to build knowledge at each grade level, in the three science disciplines of earth, life and physical sciences. Science and the arts develop excitement for inquiry, investigation and experimentation.
Social Studies
Social Studies units enhanced by the arts support objectives from history, geography, civics and economics. Beginning with a human focus of self at the kindergarten level, the themes gradually spiral outward to a world focus in the middle school.
