We are learning about our own local community, it's history and economy. We continue to practice counting money, a skill we will carry with us all of our lives. Mental math is giving us a new challenge, especially with two digit numbers.
Welcome to Second Grade!
As we read in second grade we are continuing to make connections and ask questions so that we get the most meaning. We are learning how to organize our thoughts to improve our writing, always using a writing plan and expaning our types of plans. In Social Studies we are learning all about communities and how they change. Our second grade is a community. We live, work, play and solve problems in a community. The main topics in science are measuring and tools for measuring, water: where we get it and it's importance, and plants.
